Ready for a full day of non-stop fishing action? Our Walleye and Perch Combo Trip is the perfect way to maximize your time on the water and target two of the most popular freshwater game fish. This 10-hour adventure kicks off in late July and runs through the end of our season, giving you plenty of opportunities to land a cooler full of tasty fillets.
This isn't your average fishing trip - it's a double-header designed for anglers who want it all. We'll spend the day switching between walleye and yellow perch hotspots, giving you the best shot at limits of both species. Our experienced guides know exactly where these fish hang out and how to entice them to bite. Whether you're a seasoned pro or new to fishing, you'll have a blast reeling in these prized catches. The trip starts early (exact time depends on the season) and runs for a solid 10 hours or until we hit our limits - whichever comes first. With room for up to 6 anglers, it's perfect for a group of friends or family looking to make some unforgettable memories on the water.
We'll use a variety of fishing techniques throughout the day to target both walleye and perch. For walleye, expect to do some trolling with crankbaits or nightcrawler harnesses, as well as some jigging in deeper water. When we switch to perch, we'll likely be using live bait (minnows or worms) on drop shot rigs or small jigs. Our boats are fully equipped with top-notch electronics to help locate schools of fish, and we provide all the necessary rods, reels, and tackle. Just bring your fishing license, some sunscreen, and a cooler for your catch - we'll take care of the rest!
Walleye: Known as the "marble-eyes" of the freshwater world, walleye are prized for both their fight and their flavor. These elusive predators can grow up to 20 pounds or more, though a typical keeper will be in the 2-5 pound range. Walleye have excellent eyesight, which makes them most active during low-light periods like early morning or evening. They prefer cooler water and often hang out near drop-offs, underwater structures, or weed edges. When you hook into a walleye, get ready for some head shakes and powerful runs - these fish don't give up easily!
American Yellow Perch: Don't let their size fool you - yellow perch might be smaller than walleye, but they make up for it in numbers and taste. These feisty little fish typically range from 4-12 inches and travel in schools, so when you find them, the action can be fast and furious. Yellow perch are known for their distinctive pattern of dark vertical bands on a golden-yellow background. They're aggressive feeders and will readily take a variety of baits, making them a blast to catch for anglers of all skill levels. Plus, their sweet, mild flesh is considered by many to be the best-tasting of all freshwater fish.
Our Walleye and Perch Combo Trip offers the best of both worlds - the thrill of battling hard-fighting walleye and the non-stop action of yellow perch. It's a customer favorite because it provides variety, plenty of time on the water, and almost guaranteed action. Plus, at the end of the day, you'll have a cooler full of delicious fish to take home and enjoy. Many of our repeat customers plan their entire summer around this trip, knowing they'll get their fill of fishing and come home with plenty of tasty fillets for fish fries and family dinners.
A typical day on our Walleye and Perch Combo Trip starts early - we'll meet at the dock before sunrise to load up and head out to our first spot. We'll usually start by targeting walleye during their prime early morning feeding time. As the sun climbs higher, we'll switch gears and move to some perch hotspots. Throughout the day, we'll keep an eye on conditions and fish activity, adjusting our location and tactics as needed to keep the rods bent and the fish coming over the rails. Your guide will be there every step of the way, offering tips on technique, helping with tangles, and making sure everyone on board is having a great time. We'll take a break midday for lunch (not provided, so pack accordingly), but otherwise, it's pretty much non-stop fishing action from start to finish.
Want to take your fishing trip to the next level? Starting in 2026, we're offering an "Executive" upgrade package for all our trips. For an additional $350, you'll be able to customize your on-board menu with a selection of food, beverages, and snacks. It's perfect for those special occasions or when you just want to treat yourself to a little extra luxury while you're out on the water. And yes, that includes up to two cases of your favorite beer - because let's face it, few things go together better than fishing and a cold one. Just remember to drink responsibly and leave the driving to us!

Yellow perch are small but feisty fish, typically 7-8 inches long and weighing a couple pounds. You'll find them in lakes and slow-moving rivers, often hanging around weeds, docks, or submerged trees. These guys are schooling fish, so when you catch one, there's usually more nearby. Spring's a great time to target them near the shoreline. Perch are popular because they're easy to catch year-round and taste fantastic. They put up a scrappy fight on light tackle too. For the best results, use small jigs or live bait like minnows or worms. A local trick: try fishing just off the bottom in areas where the lake floor transitions from weeds to sand. Perch love these spots. Remember, these fish have sharp teeth, so handle with care when unhooking. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, yellow perch fishing is always a good time.
Walleye are prized catches, known for their size (up to 30 inches) and tasty fillets. You'll usually find them in deeper water during the day, moving to shallows at night to feed. Look for sand or gravel bottoms near drop-offs or weed edges. These fish have great low-light vision, making dawn and dusk prime fishing times. Walleye are challenging to catch, which is part of their appeal. They put up a good fight and outsmarting them feels rewarding. Spring and fall are typically the best seasons. Live bait like minnows or leeches works well, but don't overlook jigs or crankbaits. Here's a tip: try slow-trolling with a bottom bouncer and live bait rig along break lines. Keep your presentation near the bottom and be patient – walleye often hit subtly. The catch is worth the effort though. There's nothing quite like fresh walleye for dinner after a successful day on the water.
